At Kāpili Like, we are committed to rebuilding communities through service projects.
We accomplish this through three programs: YouthBuild, Pauʻole, and Piʻikoi.

About YouthBuild

YouthBuild is a national program that provides a positive environment for at-risk youth to earn a GED, learn job skills, and gain confidence to seek their life goals. We welcome applicants and partners to help make this a successful project for the community. The following requirements must be met in order to apply for the YouthBuild Waimānalo program.

Serving Hawaii's youth.

All applicants must be between the ages of 16-24 years old to participate in our YouthBuild Waimānalo program. If you're looking to partner with us, please email youthbuild@hiilei.org.

Earn a diploma or GED.

We serve those who haven't completed high school and those who want to sharpen their skills despite attaining a diploma or GED. If this is you, our YouthBuild Waimānalo program will help you achieve your goals.

Helping those in need.

  • Member of a low-income family; or
  • Youth in foster care; or
  • Youth or adult offender; or
  • Youth with disability; or
  • Child of an incarcerated parent.

Through workshops and classes, you'll learn the skills of the trade that are necessary for employment. From operating machinery to using specific tools to safety, we'll teach you all you need to know to start doing.

Ultimately, the goal is provide affordable housing to all native Hawaiians, just as our Prince Kūhiō wanted. Through our Piʻikoi program, we're able to accomplish that.
